Gallery - Benton MacKaye Trail

Fresh off the AT in November 2020, I decided that I was going to hike the PCT in 2021. The Benton MacKaye Trail was a perfect training trail to keep me in shape. I started the approach trail of the AT on January 31 and reached the BMT on February 1. The hike took me approximately 16 days, finishing on February 16th. The BMT crosses into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park but follows the river valleys instead of the mountain ridges. Typical for that time of the year, I hiked through rain, sleet, snow, and subfreezing temperatures.
